How to complete the survey

There are five goals in the Local Transport Plan and we are asking for your feedback on the overarching principles, and the policies which sit under each goal.

For each question we’ve provided an explanation of what we are proposing.

To help you decide which sections are relevant to you, we’ve provided a summary below. You can answer questions in any order and skip at any time.

Principles: We have developed eight core principles which must be considered when we are delivering the Goals and Policies listed below. Complete this section if you’d like to give your feedback on the eight principles in the plan.

GOAL 1: Support good, clean job growth and opportunity for all

Policies in this section: How we'll consider transport in all aspects of our planning and commissioning. Investing in public transport to make it easier to access jobs, education, training and leisure opportunities. Investing in a new online payment system, capping the costs of tickets and reviewing our travel offer, including ticketing for young people and concessionary passes.

GOAL 2: Achieve net-zero carbon and an improved environment

Policies in this section: How we'll provide genuine alternatives to car travel including car clubs. Plans to remove carbon emissions from transport and reallocating road space to make way for more walking, cycling and wheeling. Introducing 'polluter pays' schemes and supporting freight and logistics to move to electric vehicles and be more efficient.

GOAL 3: Improve health and quality of life

Policies in this section: Improving road safety and air quality, making transport safe and inclusive, helping people to live healthy lives.

GOAL 4: Transport that’s well maintained and tough

Policies in this section: Preparing for extreme weather, making sure transport can withstand climate change and looking at how we maintain public transport and the roads we are responsible for.

GOAL 5: Plan and respond to uncertainty and change and be innovative

Policies in this section: Trialling and investing in new technologies and artificial intelligence.
